Limit Exposure to Extreme Temperatures
Everyone knows extreme cold damages your car battery's lifespan, but the same goes for extreme heat. If possible, limit your car's exposure to extreme temperatures by parking inside or in the shade.
Keep Your Battery Clean
Overtime, your battery will corrode and accumulate built up gunk. Be sure to clean off your battery every once and a while. Your battery should be clean, dry, and gunk-free.
Limit Power Usage When Engine is Off
Using the radio or other electronic features while the engine is off could significantly reduce your battery's lifespan. Be mindful and limit your power usage when you aren't driving as it could use up the battery voltage.
Check Battery Voltage
Every once and a while, you should check your battery's voltage to see how long it's lifespan is. If your battery has been exposed to a lot of the factors mentioned above and is over a year and a half old, you should get into the habit of checking it very often.
